Internet Safety

The Internet has opened up a world of information for every member of the family. But that window on the world comes with pitfalls and dangers, especially for the young.

EBTV will televise an informative presentation by East Brunswick Police Department Detective Kevin Zebro on how to keep your family safe at the computer. The hour-long program will be shown March 13-April 15 as follows: Tuesdays, 3 p.m.; Wednesdays, 9 p.m.; and Sundays, 4 p.m.

Internet predators can pose a physical threat to the well-being of children who are unaware of the true identities of the people they “meet” in cyberspace. Detective Zebro will outline steps parents can take to take better control of the time their children spend online and reduce the chances of their being victimized.

EBTV, a department of The Library, is East Brunswick’s municipal access cable station seen on Comcast’s Channel 3. For more information, please contact Cindy O’Connor, EBTV Manager, at 732-390-6780 or log onto www.ebtv.org.
